They have an option out there for almost everyone. And that’s where we come in.

We love AcuRite, and we’re here to help you find the best AcuRite weather station for you.

Best AcuRite Weather Stations (Our Review)

Best Overall: AcuRite Atlas 01700M Weather Station

https://www.amazon.ca/01007M-Touchscreen-Monitoring-Lightning-Detection/dp/B074XKB239

The AcuRite Atlas 01700M Weather Station has a ton of great features and accessories. This includes a TFT HD color touchscreen display and an access module.

The display can be set on a tabletop or mounted on a wall. It displays all of your machine’s readings clearly and in real-time. There’s also a slot for an SD card for long-term storage of your data.

The access module allows you to access data from your controller via the sensor suite from up to 330ft. This is, of course, dependent on the materials your house is made of, and if there’s anything big standing in the way.

Thanks to the MyAcurite weather app, you can access and record your data from all of your devices.

The 7-in-1 sensor array also comes with all the instruments you might need. This includes an indoor/outdoor thermometer and hygrometer, a self-emptying rain collector, a UV sensor, and much more. These instruments are all super accurate.

The update intervals of this machine are around 10 seconds, making it quicker than most other weather machines.

On the downside, this weather station is on the pricier end. Depending on the accessories you choose, it could cost you up to $300.

It’s also battery powered unlike other AcuRite weather stations, which are usually solar-powered.

Pros

  • Comes with a TFT HD color touchscreen display

  • Can access data from up to 330ft away

  • Comes with loads of super accurate weather instruments

  • Accessible via the MyAcurite weather app

  • Can send phone/email notifications about weather changes

Cons

  • On the pricier side

  • Lightning sensor can be slightly inaccurate at times

Best Budget: AcuRite 01512 Wireless Home Station

https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-Wireless-Weather-Station-Sensor/dp/B00N1XCA9M

Coming in at only $148.40, the AcuRite 01512 is an excellent budget option that doesn’t sacrifice quality.

The low price does mean that it’s pretty basic, though. It doesn’t come with a lot of the extras that some of the other options on this list do.

While it can transmit data to the display console from up to 330ft, it doesn’t come with a way to connect to anything else. This means that you won’t be able to use your PC or phone to view your weather information. You can only use the display unit.

The display itself is pretty nice, though. It has bright, vibrant colors that mean you can see the information it displays from far away. The display has an auto-dimming feature. It also has a weather ticker that displays information in real-time.

The 5-in-1 sensor array can read the temperature, humidity, rainfall, and more.

The update frequency for wind speed is 18 seconds. For wind direction and temperature, it is 36 seconds. This is a little longer than other weather stations.

Other than the price, its ease of installation and use makes it great for beginners. It’s a very straightforward device.

Pros

  • Affordable price

  • Can transmit data up to 330ft

  • Vibrant, easy-to-read display

  • Easy to set up and use

Cons

  • Slow update frequency

  • Cannot access information from your phone or PC

Best Wireless: AcuRite 01540M Weather Station

https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-01540M-Weather-Connection-Underground/dp/B07D9D6CXW

Many of the other weather stations on this list require cables for setup. This can create clutter. If you prefer your technology to be wireless, then the AcuRite 01540M is the weather station for you.

This weather station uses AcuRite wifi for connectivity. This allows you a neat, wireless solution.

Like the 01520, the 01540M has a 5-in-1 weather sensor that measures temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed, and more.

The wind speed updates every 18 seconds, which is a little slower than most weather machines.

The color LCD display is bright, simple, and easy to see from far away. You can place it on a table or mount it on a wall, making it versatile. It also shows weather forecasts as well as historical weather records.

This unit is easy to set up and use, making it a decent option for beginners.

Unfortunately, this weather machine is pretty basic. It doesn’t come with a lot of extras or accessories, or even the ability to add onto it. It’ll get you by, but will be lacking for any weather or outdoor enthusiasts.

Pros

  • Inexpensive

  • Wireless and neat

  • Bright and simple color LCD display

  • Easy to set up and use

Cons

  • Basic – not a lot of extras

Best Display: AcuRite 01024M Pro Weather Station

https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-01024M-Lightning-Detector-Temperature/dp/B01MF7HK97

If you want a weather station with a sleek, easy-to-read, HD display, then the AcuRite 01024M Pro Weather Station is the one for you.

The display is designed beautifully both on a hardware and a software level. It displays all your necessary information along with graphs and imagery to make it easier to understand and forecast.

The only downside to the display console is that it is only powered via AC power, making it less portable than the battery-powered options.

This weather machine also comes with lightning detection, a feature that only a few weather stations provide. It displays both a count of the total strikes and an estimated distance of the storm.

Its 5-in-1 weather sensor comes with all of the usual features, such as temperature and humidity readings.

The price of this machine is pretty affordable for all of its features. While not the cheapest option available, it’s definitely great value-for-money.

Pros

  • Comes with a great, HD color display

  • Comes with lightning detection

  • 5-in-1 weather sensor

  • Great value-for-money

Cons

  • Display is only powered by AC

Best Wired: AcuRite 01036M Wireless Weather Station

https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-01036M-Wireless-Weather-Programmable/dp/B00FWSP3UC

This weather station can transmit information wirelessly up to 330ft to the display unit.

You can then connect your display unit to any laptop or PC via a USB cable. This allows you to upload your data to MyAcurite or Weather Underground. These allow you to access your information from your smartphone, tablet, or any other PC.

This weather station comes with two options for the display unit. Both are easy-to-read LCD screens. Version 2 has brighter, more distinct colors, while version 3’s design is a little prettier. Both are great and will do you well, so it really depends on your preference and budget.

With MyAcurite and Weather Underground, you receive updates anywhere between 18 and 36 seconds. You can also set email and text alerts for any changes in weather conditions.

The accessories are all battery-powered, making it versatile and portable.

On the downside, the screen isn’t as high-quality as some of the other options on this list, and the setup is a little less beginner-friendly.

Pros

  • Can connect to MyAcurite

  • Can access information from PC, smartphone, or tablet

  • Two options for display units

  • Affordable price

Cons

  • Display units aren’t high quality

  • Setup is trickier than other options

Best Versatile: AcuRite 01009M Atlas Weather Station

https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-01009M-Weather-Definition-Touchscreen/dp/B074XK7GRQ

Another machine in the Atlas range, the AcuRite 01009M Atlas Weather Station is an excellent piece of equipment. Thanks to the various options it has available, it’s also super versatile.

When purchasing, you can select one of three options. You can select the cheapest option, which just comes with the HD display. You can select the option that comes with a WiFi display. Lastly, you can select the option that comes with an HD display and remote monitoring.

This means that there’s an option for you depending on your needs, budget, and preference. Each option comes with a different level of connectivity and remote access.

For example, you will only be able to view information for the cheapest option via the HD display in your home. On the other hand, the most expensive option offers you connectivity to MyAcurite. This allows you to access weather data via your smartphone or PC.

This weather station also comes with a 7-in-1 weather sensor that detects UV. While it doesn’t come with a lightning detector, you can add that in later.

On the downside, the display unit is not as great as other options on this list. While it looks nice, it doesn’t tilt. This limits your options for placement.

Pros

  • Versatile depending on your needs and budget

  • 7-in-1 weather sensor

  • Can be accessible via phone and PC

  • Accurate weather readings

Cons

  • Display unit can’t tilt and isn’t as nice as other display units

Best Lightning Detector: LiAcuRite Iris 01022M Weather Station Detector

https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-01022M-Lightning-Temperature-Detection/dp/B01MEFGGMF

Only a few of AcuRite’s weather stations have lightning detectors. It’s a great feature that you might not want to miss out on if you’re an experienced user. As far as lightning detectors go, the AcuRite Iris 01022M Weather Station has by far the best one.

It can detect lightning from up to 25 miles away. It also counts the total number of strikes and estimates the distance of the lightning. This is super useful if you want to track a storm for any reason.

It also comes at a relatively affordable price, unlike other weather stations with lightning detectors.

Unfortunately, the accuracy of its other weather readings isn’t as great as other weather stations, and the update frequency is a little slow.

It also can’t connect to the internet or any external devices without an add-on, which is an additional cost.

Pros

  • Accurate lightning detector

  • Affordable price

  • Counts lightning strikes and estimates distance up to 25 miles

  • Easy to set up and use

Cons

  • Slow update frequency

  • Other weather readings are slightly less accurate

Things to Know About AcuRite Weather Stations (FAQ)

Why AcuRite?

AcuRite weather stations are some of the best on the market. They are accurate, easy to use, and you can find an AcuRite weather station for just about all of your needs.

They also vary in price and come in a basic and pro range. No matter who you are and what your budget is, there’s an AcuRite product for you.

Where should I put my AcuRite weather station?

You’ll need to place the weather sensor outside, at least 60 inches off the ground. Avoid sprinklers, sources of humidity, or overhangs. These could all interfere with temperature and weather readings.

Check out our guide on AcuRite weather station troubleshooting for more information on placement.

What should I look for in an AcuRite weather station?

Each weather station comes with different features and accessories. All of the AcuRite weather stations are accurate within a certain range. Some will still be better than others.

Things to consider are the type of display, connectivity, compatibility with accessories and apps, and price.

Although most AcuRite weather stations come with solar panels, for the most part, these do not power the instruments. They only power the aspirating fan. So check whether they are battery or AC-powered depending on your preference.

Acurite Weather Station Troubleshooting

Acurite provides excellent weather station solutions for home use. But, like any technology, their weather stations can sometimes malfunction or even break.

That’s where we come in. Just because your weather station is giving you some grief doesn’t mean it’s down for the count.

In this guide, we’ll show you the steps for Acurite weather station troubleshooting so you can get your machine back up and running.

The Steps for Acurite Weather Station Troubleshooting

How to Set Up Acurite Weather Station

If your weather station is displaying incorrectly or giving you other issues, make sure it’s set up correctly.

First, plug the power cable into your weather station. Then, turn on the display. The device will automatically begin the configuration process.

Use the arrows to change between options, and the gear button to select the setting you want.

Once you’ve chosen your settings, install the sensor batteries. Place four AA batteries into the 5-in-1 outdoor sensor battery compartment.

How to Mount Acurite Weather Station

If your temperature and rain readings are off, ensure your weather station is mounted.

Place it in a suitable spot.

Find somewhere that is at least 5 feet off the ground and away from heat and humidity (such as direct sunlight). The front solar cell should also face towards the equator (which is South if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere).

Make sure the sensor is level. This way, you’ll get the most accurate rain reporting possible.

Take off the rain gauge stabilizer once your sensor is mounted.

How to Set Time on Acurite Weather Station

If your time is displaying incorrectly, it can create a whole host of problems. Make sure it’s displaying the correct time.

If not, set it to the right time.

On the back of the unit, there is a button to select your time zone preference. Make sure you’re in the correct time zone.

If the timezone is correct, but the display time is still wrong, you’ll need to manually set the time.

Press the gear button and then select set mode. Go to clock hour/clock minute, and set the correct time using the arrow buttons.

How to Sync Acurite Weather Station

Sometimes issues can be caused by the sensor and the display unit falling out of sync. If you’re having this issue, you might not have synced them correctly or you may need to re-sync them.

Turn off both units and take out the batteries and power cord. Then, place the units next to one another.

Change the A-B-C switch to a new letter on both units. Make sure they are set to the same one.

Put the batteries back into the sensor. If the red light is blinking once every 18 seconds or so, you’re good to go. It should not be on continuously.

Plug the power cord back into the display unit. As soon as it’s in, press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds.

Keep the units close to one another for about five minutes. When you see a solid sensor signal on the display unit, you’re all set.

How to Reset Acurite Weather Station

If you’ve tried everything else on this list but your Acurite Weather Station is still giving you issues, then resetting it might help.

First, locate the reset button inside the battery compartment of the display unit. Press and release this button to factory reset the weather station.

Once it is reset, press the GEO button to select the correct region that you’re in. If the correct region isn’t selected, then your temperature displays will be inaccurate.
