AcuRite 01036M Wireless Weather Station (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
The AcuRite 01036M Wireless Weather Station is best for personal use. It’s a multifunctional tool that provides accurate weather and temperature readings and when placed correctly, is very durable and reliable.
The system connects with a basic USB cable to any computer system. Information can be stored, or uploaded directly to the internet.
The computer has to be switched on the entire time that the system is running so you may have to consider purchasing a computer specifically for your weather station.
This 01036M model is a dream to set-up and the parts are easy to assemble. The built-in bubble level helps for an easy mount.
The only nugget of advice we can offer about the setup is finding the right location.
For accurate weather readings, make sure your system is placed in an area not too shady or obstructed by buildings or other foliage.
Although equipped with cooling capabilities, the AcuRite 01036M is not ideally suited for exceptionally hot conditions. All of these can impact your weather readings.
The debris filter ensures that the system does not get clogged.
The solar panel only works to power a fan that circulates cool air around the thermometer. It does not provide any other energy back-up to the rest of the system.
This weather station tracks and monitors wind speed, temperature, rainfall, humidity, and even barometric pressure.

Detailed Analysis
When we evaluated this weather station, we felt that the following areas deserved more detailed evaluation.
From the below, you will understand why the AcuRite 01036M Wireless Weather Station is one of our favorite AcuRite weather stations.
Display
The 01036M Weather Station comes standard with a high-performing backlight. This offers a clear display not only during night time but also in direct sunlight.
The display screen is divided into different colored inserts, making for a straight-forward data display.
One complaint about the older Weather Station models was the lack of accurate screen visibility. On the 01036M models, this problem was sorted.
Performance
The overall performance of this system is commendable. Even over a considerable period, you will still get reliable and accurate weather readings.
There are a few points that can impact accurate weather results.
Depending on your location, try to place the system in an area with the least amount of artificial or natural barriers, like buildings or foliage. The shading to sun ratio can also lead to possible temperature spikes in the weather readings.
Design
The AcuRite 01036M Wireless Weather Station is designed in two parts. One part contains the sensor array and the other part houses the base station.
The base station contains the display screen and receives all the measurements of the humidity levels, barometric pressure as well as indoor temperature readings.
The system has been manufactured from high-quality, durable plastic. The grey color blends easily with any outdoor decor design. It can be connected to the stand or wall-mounted.
It’s battery-powered, but unfortunately, these are not included. It can also be powered using a standard wall socket
The system is operated by a set of buttons. The selector buttons can be found on the side of the screen. Another set is situated below the weather ticker display and the other set is below the main display.
Connectivity
The system is designed to only connect the base station using a USB cable to the computer. During installation, software needs to be downloaded from the website so that the data received can be stored and analyzed.
The data file downloaded to the computer can be linked to the internet to any smartphone, tablet, or computer. Information can be shared online using the Weather Underground of the My AcuRite Account.
A downside to the system is the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity.
